Is it possible to paint a small patch on a motorcycle fairing?

I have a small area (about 1x2 inches) that got scuffed up deep to the abs plastic on my motorcycle fairing which i would like to fix. Is it possible for me to paint the area by taping off and working on the damaged area? If so, what is the procedure and will it be able to blend into the original paint job if done so correctly?

a pro can do it with an airbrush, it takes years to get the technique down
