What is the difference between Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, and Mocha as opposed to regular coffee?
Can someone explain what these drinks are... in simple, non-familiar with coffee person terms.
Good question. First, coffee is brewed differently then Espresso and etc. Typical coffee is drip brewed. Back in the olden days, it was percolated (or boiled)... yuck! There is also French pressed; which is very good. So, you have Espresso which very hot water is forced through the grounds. Espresso actually doesn't have as much caffeine as regular coffee (a common misconception). Cappuccino has a "Cap" or dollop of foam from steamed milk on top of the Espresso. Latte is steamed milk added to the Espresso with a hint of foam on top. Mocha is the Latte with an addition of melted chocolate mix in.
