Newer super automatic espresso machines, any good?
Are these machines worth the money, any one have one they use in their home? Pros, Cons?
Would just a nice semi-auto be a better setup? Any recommendations?
Super Automatics are OK, if you spend a small fortune on them. Otherwise they're only good for strong/inconsistent coffee.
I use a Rancillio Silvia semi-automatic & I get great espresso in 5 minutes from turning it on. Yes I have to measure the coffee on a scale, I have to tamp it properly, and I needed a quality grinder (still cost less than a super automatic).
Good coffee is rarely to be found at the push of a button. Once you've had it, you'll know.
